Food Services
Food services industry comprises businesses or institutions that prepare and serve food and beverages to consumers. Recent research from University of Copenhagen (2024) informs us that consumers are increasingly interested to know about the environmental impact of the food products that they consume. Specifically, they are interested in reducing their footprints where possible, and are keen to use their purchasing power to improve social and environmental outcomes for all. At TrackCarbon, we focus on impact on both nature and climate impact by looking at four environmental stressors: land use, freshwater use, water weighted scarcity by use, and GHG emissions.
Scoring + Labelling
TrackCarbon provides each food product with an environmental impact score from A-E. This scoring can be via a label on the packaging of the product or can be accessed via a QR Code.
As a partner of GS1 UK, and QR partner advisory group member, TrackCarbon understands the best practice guidelines for creating GS1 Digital Link QR codes.
