The food services sector includes restaurants, cafés, catering providers, and other businesses that prepare and serve food to customers. As sustainability becomes a growing priority, diners are showing increasing interest in understanding the environmental impact of the meals they consume. A 2024 study by the University of Copenhagen found that consumers are actively looking to reduce their environmental footprint and make more informed, conscious dining choices. At TrackCarbon, we help food service providers respond to this demand by measuring and managing environmental impact across four key stressors: land use, freshwater use, water scarcity (weighted by use), and greenhouse gas emissions.


Product + Labelling

Food retailers offer both ‘branded’ and ‘white label products’ to their customers. At TrackCarbon we help retailers to track and measure impact across four environmrntal stressors, and then provide each product with an environmental impact score from A-E. This scoring can be via a label on the packaging of the product or can be accessed via a QR Code.
